A B C's of Motion -- "A" is for Amsterdam (where you oughta go if someone
comes at you with a baseball bat); "B" is for Boogie (how you oughta go if
someone comes at you with a baseball bat); "C" is for Crunch (the last 
sound you're gonna hear if you don't Boogie to Amsterdam!)


Aak, Aak, Pht, Pht. -- Traditional greeting of the Senior Instructor to students caught in the act of practicing forms, techniques, etc. (Legend has it that this greeting was first developed by Ed Parker when he heard the sound his "Precious" made when coughing up a hair ball.)
Blocks -- What kids build with. (See also "Downward Blocks.)
Bobbin Weave -- Means of repairing a torn gi. (See also "Tailoring.")
Check -- What you write to pay for classes. (See also "Cash" in the Unabridged Edition available now for a modest price at your local dojo.)
Chi -- Chinese term meaning "need" as in the phrase "Ah chi oo", "I need a tissue."
Chi Sao -- "Sticky hands." Used to discribe the need for a washcloth. (See also Chi.)
Directional Change -- What you make when you're about to enter the dojo and discover you've forgotten your gi in the car.
Downward Blocks -- What happens to kid's tower when a sibling interferes. (If you can't figure out what's going to happen next, see also "Striking Set" in the Unabridged Edition.)
Hammering -- (1) What you do to a nail. (2) The type of headache you have after too much of a "night on the town."
Hooking -- One of the various ways to make money to pay for classes. (Warning: Use of this technique is concidered illegal in most states.)
Methods of Execution -- What Sensei contemplates when his students don't do a technique the "right" way. (Boy, does he yell!)
Minor Moves -- What a bartender uses when someone underage tries to buy a drink.
Tailoring -- What you get done if your new gi doesn't fit right.
Sliding Check -- Type of payment made which "might" make it to the bank before you have a chance to deposit your pay check. (See also "Bouncing Check" in the Unabrided Edition available now for a modest cash only price at your local dojo.)
Zen -- A term which comes from the European martial arts denoting a sequence of events. "First, you punch him in da nose, zen you poke him in da eyes. Yah?"
